The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau is closely monitoring recent developments regarding the Zika virus along with our partners at VISIT FLORIDA, the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) and the U.S. Travel Association.

At this time, there have been no locally acquired cases of Zika reported in the state of Florida. Additionally, there are no travel advisories, issued by state, federal or international public health officials, advising people not to travel to Florida.

The Executive Order issued by the Governor of Florida addresses mosquito spray measures and allows the increase of mosquito control efforts needed to proactively combat the spread of Zika. It also directs the Florida Department of Health to provide resources and information for the public. The Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management provides information to the public on mosquito control.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as it evolves. However, we would also like to know if you are experiencing any disruptions in business or cancellations because of the situation.

Please email Partner@GMCVB.com any details you can provide and feel free to forward any emails that you may be receiving from your customers, be it for leisure or group.

This will assist us in making an overall assessment of the situation. Thank you.
