This award is given to a community leader who has shown leadership and commitment to education and hospitality and tourism in South Florida.

Academy of Hospitality and Tourism (AOHT) is a member of the non-profit National Academy Foundation, which supports partnerships nationally between business and schools to create college and career ready students. 14 Miami public high schools in the Department of Career and Technical Education participate in the AOHT.
