Many congratulations to my dear friend Kimberly Wilson, General Manager, The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne for being awarded 2014 South Florida Tourism Professional of the Year by Academy of Hospitality & Tourism. This award is given to a community leader who has shown leadership and commitment to education and hospitality and tourism in South Florida.
Academy of Hospitality and Tourism (AOHT) is a member of the non-profit National Academy Foundation, which supports partnerships nationally between business and schools to create college and career ready students. 14 Miami public high schools in the Department of Career and Technical Education participate in the AOHT.
We celebrated 12 winners to include 8 Hotel awards and 3 Allied Upgrade/Allied awards. Our fabulous Keynote speaker, Diana C. Beltran Gonzalez, Learning & Delivery Manager, Global Learning and Development at Wyndham Hotel Group and Glenn Hasek, Publisher and Editor of Green Lodging News addressed the audience of 150 guests.
