Ted Teng, President & CEO, The Leading Hotels of the World, spoke at our summer luncheon at The Biltmore on Friday, June 14th, 2013. The sold out luncheon was a great success with over 225 hotel and industry partner members in attendance.
Mr. Teng’s presentation centered on bringing innovation to the hospitality industry, a quality Teng believes the industry is lacking. “Greatness comes from desire to revolutionize the industry, change the world,” he asserted.
Ted Teng has been in the hospitality industry for 30 years, and has been known to grow some of the most prominent brands, as well as having achieved significant growth in numerous hotels worldwide. Prior to joining The Leading Hotels of the World, Mr. Teng founded the Prime Opus Partners, LP, a hotel investment and operations firm.
Appointed president and chief executive officer of The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd., in September 2008, Ted Teng oversees and directs all aspects of business strategy, operations, and performance growth for the premier luxury hospitality organization. The company, which represents over 430 predominantly independent hotels, provides global sales, marketing and distribution services through an expansive network of worldwide sales and reservations offices.
Miami-Dade County is home to five Leading Hotels of the World: The Biltmore, Canyon Ranch Hotel & Spa Miami Beach, Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach, Fisher Island Hotel & Resort, and The Setai Miami Beach.
In addition to Mr. Teng’s presentation, Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum, spoke about the Bethlehem Project and their goals to help as many employees as possible become New American Citizens. Many of GMBHA member hotels have already launched the program in their hotels, including InterContinental Miami, The Betsy South Beach, Shore Club, DREAM South Beach, Hilton Bentley, Doubletree by Hilton Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay and the Trump International Beach Resort.
